Diamond Bay Golf & Villas lies in the middle of the road connecting the beautiful Nha Trang beach city with Cam Ranh international airport. You just have to spend a 15 minutes trip from each destination to arrive at this wonderful mountain and sea combined golf course. Not a long distance but far from the busy city enough for you to relax in this peaceful paradise.
Diamond Bay Golf location also gives the course an incredible view of Nha Trang Bay and also wraps it with a temperate climate throughout the year. If you are a morning golfer, then an early round with a light ocean breeze and the view of foggy mountains is a must. For an afternoon player, the East Sea also gives out a magnificent scene with the sun setting down the horizon line. Whichever golf path you choose to take, Diamond Bay golf Nha Trang will serve you well.
A sketch of the course
Diamond Bay Golf Nha Trang was designed by Andy Dye, one of the world's best golf course designers. This 18-hole championship course covers a 7244-yard area and is situated right beside the southern Vietnam coastline. The course is divided into two smaller courses that overlap each other. While the Ruby course (first 9 holes) steps back a little inside the land, the Diamond course is reaching out to the sea. Because of the distribution, Diamond course definitely includes more water hazards compared to the Ruby course.
On a full view, Diamond Bay golf course has a full range of obstacles, from the natural marshes, white sand bunkers, rivers and lakes to many large pine trees. And standing in between the obstacles is the quality Platinum TE Paspalum grass. This helps to sketch out a high contrast abeyant painting of the course. Moreover, with the top quality turf, the ball will be taken at a more accurate shot and promised to land on the right spot.
Playing the most featured holes of Diamond Bay Golf Nha Trang
For the Ruby course, the two memorable holes are the 7th and the 9th. The par-4 7th is a challenging hole. Golfers have to take a big strong shot to carry the ball through the water area and then land the ball right in a narrow green. Between the pond and the green lie a long flat bunker that hugs the border of the water.
As many golfers agreed, the 9th is the most difficult par-4 over the whole course. The 9th’s fairway is filled with many separated bunkers on the right and water run alongside on the left. You will make a decision to take a full drive to hit over the obstacles, or you will take shot by shot short range attempts in order to reach the small green.
However, the fun part of Diamond Bay Golf is yet to come. The signature hole of the course belongs to the Diamond course, the par-3 12th. It has been called the “smiling hole” by most golfers playing here because of its design just like a smiling face. To begin with, the tee area is fairly wide, surrounded by a wall of rocks that continue to run to the green. The hole’s green is put on a small island straight across the tee and is guarded well with mixed types of bunkers. Golfers have to be careful with the winds sometimes like to cross the water surface.
Another fun hole is the par-5 18th, the best finishing hole. The fairway is pretty narrow due to water hazards on each side. The water also cut the part of the fairway near the green into two. You will have to choose to carry this 40 yards of water to come close to the green or let the ball lie there and decide to play rescue.
