Located on the top of a hill, FLC Ha Long Bay Golf Club embraces a breathtaking view and the unique landscape of Ha Long Bay - a world natural wonder twice recognized by UNESCO. The course was designed by the talented architect Schmidt (of Curley Design Company). Schmidt is a famous architect with a lot of experience in designing hill golf courses, while Curley Design Company is a unit that has carried out many famous golf projects in the world, including the Mission Hill complex of China. In designing FLC Halong, Schmidt focused on a layout with the scenic landscape but remaining varied challenges. Therefore, this golf course promises to bring the most satisfying views and greatly exciting golf game for golfers coming here to try it.
FLC Ha Long Golf Club and its best holes
Halong Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course of international standards with an area of nearly 85 hectares, a length of nearly 6900 yards, Par 71. The course has a constantly precipitous slope and a series of elevation changes. Such a dramatic terrain requires players to have proper approaches and accurate shots. Also, the fairway areas are quite large plus the surrounding bunkers are arranged, which will increase the challenge of the yard many times.
FLC Ha Long Golf Club has four holes directly overlooking Ha Long Bay and the remaining holes are located around cliffs and valleys. Five par-3 holes have a panoramic view of Ha Long Bay with thousand limestone karsts rising up emerald water. Among them are two signature holes including the eighth and the twelfth. These two holes bear a feel of the iconic 7th hole in Pebble Beach, California. Hole par-five 12th is noteworthy as it features a height of 604 yards and a drop of 40 meters. Moreover, its green is very small, tiered, and surrounded by bunkers. In general, most holes feature a wide fairway and accessible landing areas, making wrong shots still playable. Besides, sea wind is often prevailing across the bay, so choosing the correct club is the key to a good shot.
With its design meeting international standards, FLC Halong Golf Course is eligible to organize professional golf tournaments. It has been chosen as the venue for major tournaments such as Hanoi Notary Golf Challenge 2017, KLF Golf Tournament 2017, FLC Biscom Golf Tournament 2018, and most recently, the Overseas Vietnamese World Golf Championship 2019.
