Golf course overview
Sky Lake Golf Resort is a well-known semi-private golf course located near Hanoi. Via Thang Long freeway, it just takes around 1 hour from the downtown city to reach the course. The course was well designed by Korean architect, Mr. Ahn Moon Hwan of Bori Golf Design Ltd. It was awarded in 2015 as the 5th best golf course in Vietnam and awarded in 2013 as the most challenging golf course in Vietnam by Vietnam Golf Association.
Sky Lake Golf provides players with 2 contrasting 18-hole PGA-standard courses: the Sky Course and the Lake Course. Both courses preserve well the existing landscape of the region. In particular, the mountainous terrain combined with natural waterfalls, mature trees, charming Van Son Lake make the Sky Lake intact but modern in its visual treat for players. As enjoyable as it can be challenging, golfers coming here can be satisfied with the true excitement of golfing with the championship level.
Two distinct courses of Sky Lake Golf
The Lake Course is 7,625 yards in length weaving its way around Van Son Lake. Thanks to such a layout, the course offers the players different appealing challenges with 18 holes. Each one features itself with its signature difficulty and owns varied scenic backdrops. From many points on the course, players can catch amazing views of lakes with hills, mountains, and an overlooking view of surrounding farmland. In addition, the winding fairways and greens follow the hilly curves of the area, which makes challenges more challenging. Besides that, members of the Sky Lake Resort & Golf Club - Lake Course can benefit from its championship test of golf, the only service for its membership.
Long and accurate drives on the Lake Course are needed to reach many lengthy uphill par-4 holes. The thick rough, large trees and severe drop-off areas of most holes can make drives stray off the fairway. Also, large multi-layer greens add to the difficulty of the course as they are surrounded by steep greenside bunker complexes. Despite that, the lush Paspalum grass of most fairways is wide enough to accept most off-center hits.
The more accessible part of the Sky Course. It is opened for public play and accepts golfers of all abilities. The beautiful landscape surrounded by jungle fits in the course design. Such a landscape creates consistency and continuity of the course and provides golfers with different evaluations and aspects. Visitors coming here are often interested in the famous 15th hole the most. This hole is the signature of the course appealing to most golfers due to its true risk.
