The golf course’s overview
A little over one hour to the west of Ho Chi Minh city, West Lakes Golf Course & Villas was opened, being the first and only link-style golf course in the region. West Lakes Golf features an 18-hole championship golf course stretching over 7100 yards in length. Designed by famous Thomson Perrett, West Lakes Golf and Villas is one of the first courses that feature Zeon Zoysia grass for the fairways making them easy to hit off. Moreover, to create the best golfing conditions for golfers at all levels, the greens are also turfed with the Tifeagle breed of Bermuda grass. Thus, the grass offers fast running and pure rolling surfaces allowing golfers at all levels to have professional tee shots.
Taking the natural features of west land, the course is highlighted by endless picturesque lakes that stand out on every golf course. The fairways are shaped like undulating waves and there are also cleverly arranged sand traps. Beside scenic lakes and undulating fairways, strategically placed bunkers are also the signatures on Thomson’s courses. The harmonious landscape is further embellished by the color of the beautiful grass flowers, all bearing a distinctive imprint of Thomson Perrett’s design style.
The front nine starts with large fairways and landing areas while the next nine has more tricky holes and lots of challenges awaiting. At West Lakes Golf Course, golfers may need many layup shots of the fairway and bunkers on the greenside to have good scores.
Playing holes at West Lakes Golf Course
Every hole over the course features water hazards as lakes or streams in many shapes. Golfers may need wise shots to avoid these water areas. Starting with the par-4 1st hole, you will find water running down on both sides of the fairways. Then you will experience similar features on the 2nd and 3rd holes where water flows across the green on the front. The par-5 7th is the longest hole with a length of 610 yards surrounded by mostly water, especially a giant lake on the left. Golfers then go to the par-3 8th hole which has a green placing between a small lake and be guarded by three bunkers.
A perfect ending 18th hole is a par-4 (445 yards from the gold tee) requiring a quite straightforward tee shot to clear the water. But this is not that easy, you must be careful with your drive as there are two fairway bunkers and also long lakes running along on the left side. There is one more bunker protecting the front right and tricky water so you better have a precise calculation to approach the green.
West Lakes Golf and Villas Services and Facilities
The Club House is over 3000m2 in width with many facilities included, providing the best service for golfers while training and relaxing at West Lakes Golf Vietnam. There are Male, Female and VIP Locker areas including dressing rooms, sauna and steam rooms, and Japanese styled bathroom. On-site the clubhouses feature a pro shop where golfers can find any necessary equipment for golf. Also, an extensive driving range offers golfers opportunities to practice professional shots. Furthermore, the restaurant is also a highlight here with the view covering the whole golf course and the beautiful western nature scenery. The restaurant is designed luxurious, spacious serving Westen, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese delicacies. There are also on-course kiosks serving food and beverages at holes 1, 6, and 14.

Located in beautiful Long An Province with many countryside scenic landscapes. It takes approximately over one hour from central Saigon to reach the golf course.
